Julia Waring
Principal

Julia is a senior communications and public affairs advisor with 20 years of experience across real estate development, higher education and government. She is known for making complex issues clear to diverse audiences and for steady judgment in high-profile environments.

Julia headed communications for the Mayor of Whistler during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and led communications for the President of the University of British Columbia.

Through Groundswell, Julia has spent nearly a decade advising clients on high-profile initiatives, including advocacy to extend SkyTrain to the UBC and brand positioning for the UBC Sauder School of Business.

Most recently, Julia led the communications function for one of B.C.’s most prominent real estate developers, serving as in-house counsel to senior executives on reputation, crisis communications, government relations and community engagement for complex development projects.
